Development Centre – U9 to U11
United in the Community is the official player pathway for Hereford FC for players 12+ and the Development Centre operates one step below this in the pyramid.
The aim of the Development Centre is to provide a professional environment for all players in the following age groups; U9, U10 and U11. Our philosophy is to produce technically competent players and to give them the best possible chance of filtering through to our Academy system at U12 level.
Identifying Talented Players
Talented players are often recruited through United in the Community’s programmes, such as the Schools Programme and Soccer Schools. The Centre is designed to cater for players who are seen to have raw talent and potential, with these players then being invited for a trial with their particular age group.
Development Centre Information
Training takes place once a week, with sessions lasting up to an hour and a half. Within the training schedule, coaches deliver session topics from our syllabus, which is designed to allow them to monitor and assess players throughout the season. The topics covered in training have been chosen to develop all aspects of football and regular fixtures are put in place for players to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.
The Centre provides an opportunity and a pathway to professional football for these young players but they are encouraged to continue to play and train with their grassroots clubs.
